CHAMPIONSHIPS

Sunday 14th March, 2027

The Scottish Schools Pipe Band Championships is Scotland’s leading youth piping and drumming competition. For one unforgettable day, the William McIlvanney Campus, Kilmarnock comes alive with the sound of traditional Scottish pipes and drums.

Featuring more than 100 performances from over 60 bands and welcoming competitors, supporters and special guests from all over Scotland, the Championships showcase the very best of young musical talent.

From beginners to elite performers, there are opportunities for everyone. Schools without a full band can enter the Quartet competition, offering an accessible route into competing.

Supporters & Sponsors

The Championships would not be possible without the valued support of our sponsors, partners and supporters.

Their generosity helps us provide opportunities for competitors, showcase talent at every level, and ensure the continued success of this prestigious event. We extend our heartfelt thanks for their ongoing commitment to The Championships and the wider piping and drumming community.

Travel Support

We are committed to making the Championships as inclusive as possible and recognise that travel costs can be a barrier to participation for state school bands, particularly those from rural communities.

Bands based more than 100 miles from the venue may apply for a travel subsidy to help cover travel and accommodation costs. Support of up to 50% of eligible costs is available, subject to a maximum contribution of £500 per band.

To help us plan and allocate funding, applications should be submitted in advance of the event wherever possible using the Travel Subsidy Form.
